To manage the money held in our trusts we go through a rigorous process to appoint an investment manager that supports our investment needs and is aligned to our values.  Through this process we meet with some of the largest investment managers across the UK to appoint the investment manager that best meets our needs. Through our retendering processes we can help confirm that we are offering a high-quality investment service for our trusts.

Since 2002, we have partnered with Investec Wealth & Investment UK (IW&I UK) who are part of Rathbones Group Plc, who act as the trusted investment manager for the money held in our trusts. Your can find more information on IW&I UK and their work with charities here.

Logo for Mencap

Mencap is the leading UK charity for the learning disability community.  For over 75 years, Mencap has provided essential support to the 1.5 million people in the UK living with a learning disability. Mencap’s vision is for the UK to be the best place in the world for people with a learning disability to live happy and healthy lives.

Mencap Trust Company is a not-for-profit subsidiary of Mencap. While we’re independent from Mencap, we are proud of our shared heritage and values. Our close connection with the charity means not only do we understand learning disability, we also know where to turn for any extra support that might be needed for the families we work with.

Being independent means that we make all of our decisions based on what’s in the best interest of the people that have a trust with us. We are not a fundraising arm of the charity.
